Organizations

Customer organization boundaries.

An Organization represents one B2B customer organization inside a Project. It has a name and may have an external ID that connects it to your customer records.

Organizations are the boundary for Licenses and customer-user allocations. The same external user ID in two Organizations represents two separate organization-user allocations for Workspace capacity. Your application still owns the customer's user account and authentication.

BusinessMode does not create a customer-user profile table when someone becomes an Organization member. An Organization member is derived from that external user having at least one unreleased seat assignment in the Organization. The member view is an operational aggregate over allocations, not a login identity.

A customer administrator is different: that is an authenticated BusinessMode human delegated authority over the Organization's portal operations. An Organization's external users are not automatically those administrators.

See create Organization, list Organizations, and list Organization members. Continue with Licenses to distribute access within the Organization.
